FAQs

  • What tools can I rent out?

You can rent any tools or equipment that are in safe working order and have not been modified. The more unique or harder to find, the better.

  • How much should I charge?

We leave that up to you, but a good rule of thumb is to charge what you would be willing to pay. Keep in mind that the alternative to the renter is buying the tool.

  • How much does it cost to use LEVELD?

Nothing. LEVELD takes a portion of the owner’s rental fee and that gets deducted from the transaction after the tool has been safely returned.

  • What happens if my tool gets damaged?

If a tool gets damaged, the user should report it in the app within 24-hours and include pictures. As an owner, you will have an opportunity to collect all or a portion of the security deposit based on the damage (or theft) and the severity. If further assistance is needed, you can raise a dispute within the app to have the LEVELD team contact you for further support.

  • Am I liable if someone gets hurt while using my tool?

All users are required to agree to the in-app rental agreement which is designed to protect both the owner and renter. This rental agreement will protect against injury, damage, theft, sub-leasing, and other scenarios.

  • Can I charge a security deposit?

LEVELD has a security deposit feature in the place that protects tool owners from theft or damage. Before the renter’s booking request can be confirmed, the renter must confirm they accept the security deposit procedure set forth in the app. As a tool owner, you can set the deposit cost at your discretion, however, it is to your advantage to be reasonable. The tool being rented is likely well used, so the security deposit shouldn’t necessarily be set at the price of a new tool. Rather, the cost could be more of a mid-way point that would cover any repairs or aid in the replacement(s) of the tool. The Rental Agreement also holds the renter accountable for loss, damage, or theft.

  • Why do I have to input my banking info to list a tool?

In order to receive payments for the rental of your tools, we require your bank account info. This information is not stored with LEVELD, and we do not have access to this information. Your banking information is stored by a secure third-party financial platform called Stripe. Any payments are automatically disbursed and deposited to your account by Stripe, and Stripe will never access your bank account to extract funds.
